Review: Remont Hotel, Oxford
Oxford conjures up certain images. Inspector Morse. University dons. Students on bikes. But those twee images are banished as soon as you enter the Remont - a four star, contemporary hotel that offers visitors a sleek, minimalist design. There's 25 rooms at the Remont, and in each one you'll have access to wireless broadband internet and enjoy over 30 TV channels on the a wall mounted flat screen LCD. The Remont is in Banbury Road, Oxford - just over two miles from the City Centre and a short walk away from a selection of local shops and resturants. Review: Kitley House Country Hotel, Plymouth
The building itself cuts an imposing figure in the local skyline and looks magnificent. On arrival at the hotel, we were greeted by friendly, attentive staff. One very noticeable feature is the glorious sweeping staircase which takes you up to your room. There's 19 bedroom & suites in total, and each offers fantastic views of the country estate and retain the same elegant furnishings as the rest of the rest of the hotel. The sea is just a few hundred yards away, and the estate offers the chance to enjoy woodland walks and rout fishing. Kitley House Country Hotel in Yealmpton has more than earnt its three star status. Review: Best Western Willow Bank Hotel, Manchester
Located in Wilmslow Road, Fallowfield, this in an impressive looking member of the Best Western group. It offers a great location, with the City Centre nearby (which includes top retail names such as Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Louis Vuitton) and Old Trafford football ground is just 10 minutes drive away. The Willow Bank offers a friendly bar and lounge downstairs, and a great plasma TV for showing major sporting events. Prices start at £65 per night and all rates include an all-you-can-eat English Buffet breakfast, which is personally my favourite part of any stay in a hotel. Review: Big Blue Hotel, Blackpool
Blackpool perhaps has a reputation as a backward looking place. A seaside resort from a bygone age. But this stunning hotel with contemporary design and oversized American space certainly offers an alternative vision of Blackpool. Situated on Ocean Boulevard at the South Entrance of the Pleasure Beach, the Big Blue Hotel offers 157 bedrooms which have been designed to a stunning standard and are the essence of modernity. The facilities are of an equally high standard. Keep up with your regular fitness routine by visiting the high spec gym, and take advantage of personal training and massage services (by appointment).
